Easy Steps to Stop Riding Bish...

Learning to ride a motorcycle is one of the most thrilling experiences, you will discover an internal voice that you didn’t know you had, and your self understanding will deepened. I warn you, you will make friends that will last a lifetime and laugh and cry under your helmet more times that you can count. It is all worth it.

Before we get to the fun part it is important to prioritize safety and proper training. I’ve seen people do the dumbest things because they were not properly instructed on how to use this amazing machine.

Here are the steps to learning to ride a motorcycle:

  1. Get licensed

Before you can legally ride a motorcycle, you must obtain a motorcycle license. The requirements for obtaining a motorcycle license vary by country and state, so make sure to research the requirements in your area.

  2. Get familiar with the motorcycle:
Before you start riding, you should become familiar with the motorcycle you will be using. Familiarize yourself with the location of the controls, the weight of the bike, and the balance of the bike.

  3. Learn the basics:
You should start by learning the basic skills of riding a motorcycle, such as how to start and stop the bike, how to shift gears, and how to use the clutch and brakes. Slowly understand your moto and establish a relationship with it.

  4. Practice in a safe area:
Find a large, open area where you can practice riding in a safe and controlled environment. This could be a parking lot or an empty field. Practice, practice, practice.

  5. Learn how to turn:
Turning is an essential part of riding a motorcycle. Practice turning both left and right at slow speeds before you move on to higher speeds. Your bike goes were your eyes go - never look down or turn hastily -keep elbows little bended and do not lock them up.

  6. Practice emergency stops:
Learn how to brake quickly and come to a safe stop in an emergency situation. This can be practiced in a safe and controlled environment.

  7. Take a motorcycle safety course:
A motorcycle safety course can teach you valuable skills and techniques for safe riding. In some areas, this course is required to obtain a motorcycle license.

  8. Ride with an experienced rider:
Once you feel comfortable riding, consider riding with an experienced rider who can give you tips and feedback on your riding skills.

Remember to always wear proper safety gear, including a helmet, gloves, and protective clothing. I ride in shorts and don’t wear gloves at times. I live in a city that doesn’t require helmet BUT when I started I did take all the safety needed. With that said don’t get too cocky. Riding a motorcycle is the most fun and exhilarating experience I’ve ever experience, after giving birth of course, but safety should always come first.

Get on the road, be safe, have fun and let me know how it goes!
